‘ I have discovered that books can transport children to another place.’ Judith has been offering as a bedside reader at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust given that 2003. After retiring from teaching, Judith desired to continue to utilize her storytelling abilities to assist kids who are badly. ‘I had actually constantly enjoyed checking out to the children in school at the end of the day. ‘ I attempted to turn off a bedside light and felt like something wasn’t right with me. I understood immediately it was a stroke.’ In July 2023, after an active holiday kayaking and walking, Bob suddenly had a stroke. He was flown by air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he spent four weeks restoring. ‘I utilized the fitness center frequently and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)’. NROL is a group rehabilitation programme for people who have actually had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. ‘I had a structured schedule which gave me something to eagerly anticipate weekly – socially, mentally and mentally.’ Bob thanked NHS staff for ‘the fantastic support’ and the ongoing physiotherapy he got. ‘ Working alongside nurses and seeing the difference they made inspired me to think, ‘I could do that!” Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who began her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she joined Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve clients in Hertfordshire. ‘I liked helping individuals and discovering about the body, so nursing just felt right.’ Sharon reflects. Sharon has actually worked in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy among others, showing the vast array of areas in which nurses make a distinction. ‘Truly, I can’t think about a location where nurses do not make an impact in some type,’ Sharon confesses. On why her function is special, Sharon discusses, ‘The care, kindness, and empathy we bring make the nursing role distinct.
